AISWA Libs Inc member, invites you to our
Term 3 Professional Learning opportunity: Chapter Books – the what, the how, the best of.
The afternoon will provide some practical actions taken by school libraries to resource chapter books, discuss how we organise them and have samples of new titles. We ask each person attending to bring along a couple of favourite titles to share with our colleagues.
Marijke & Helen from Open Book in Mosman Park will also be coming with a range of resources, to show and discuss and will have books for sale as well.

Ideas Shop: Championing diversity via cataloguing
The AISWA Libraries Inc Committee are pleased to invite you to our Term 2 Professional Learning opportunity: Ideas Shop: Championing Diversity via Cataloguing.
The afternoon will provide some practical actions taken by school libraries to champion diversity for their students, via cataloguing. We will showcase the value and the challenges of undertaking cataloguing processes and decisions, as we strive for more diverse libraries. Sometimes catalogues have limitations. We will discuss different school libraries approaches to updating our catalogues, to represent or champion diversity in our student group, thus ensuring our data can point to the wide range of voices in our library collections.

Presenters: Santa Maria College Library was the WASLA Library Team of the Year and also won the SLAV Innovators Award for its upgrade in 2023.

Thank you to Wesley Library staff Jodie, Jo, Lesley and Emily who kindly hosted our popular ideas shop and thank you for the lovely afternoon tea.
Thank you to all our presenters for the day, Brad Middleton, Alison Stent, Shirley McKibbin, Natasha Georgiou and Marie Grech. The presentations really were a snapshot of what is currently happening in school libraries in Perth.
