Database Consortium

The AISWA Libraries Inc. Database Consortium, established in 2003, was originally created to help lower the cost of online databases to WA Independent Schools by forming a group to negotiate prices with various suppliers.

The Consortium has grown to include a number of products and members now include other sectors of the education community.

If you wish to register your intention to participate in the AISWA Libraries Inc. Database Consortium for 2010 you can download the form which lists the range of products covered by the Consortium here. Please email the form to Judy Christopher (St Hilda's Anglican School For Girls).

You are eligible to share in the discounts AISWA Libraries Inc. has negotiated if you are a member or an associate member (non AISWA Schools) of the association. All schools are eligible.  Please download an Application or Renewal for Full Membership Form here and send to the address on the form. Please download an application form to apply for, or renew your associate membership here.

The report "Why Online Databases" (Ainsley Bakitch, Methodist Ladies' College), outlines the value to school libraries of subscribing to online databases and describes features to be considered in evaluating online databases.
