Pam Casellas has been a journalist and sometime-broadcaster for almost 40 years. She retired from The West Australian two years ago after a career in which she was, variously and simultaneously, a news reporter, feature writer, columnist, leader writer and television critic.

Last year she produced a book called A Pound of Flour, a historical collection of prize-winning recipes from the Perth Royal Show, with cameos of regular winners and contributors.

She has just completed work on Blue Ribbon Recipes, a similar venture for the NSW Royal Agricultural Society which will be launched at Easter next year at the Sydney Royal. The plan is to continue the idea for the Brisbane and Melbourne shows.

She continues to work as a contributor with The West Australian.

Born in Williams, she was educated at St Hilda's and studied part-time at UWA - but to her mother's regret (and possibly her own) never completed her degree.
