Panel Discussion "Sex, Suicide and the Teacher Librarian".
This timely panel discussion takes a fresh and informed look at controversial young adult fiction. How influential is it, and should it be censored?
Pamela Buselich, last year's recipient of the Jean Rhodes Memorial Award for Exellence and Head of Library at Iona Presentation College, will be chairing the panel discussion.
Panel members will include:
Kate McCaffrey - author and English teacher, St Stephen's School;
Canon Frank Sheehan, Resident Chaplain of Christ Church Grammar School and Director of the Centre of Ethics;
Chloe Mauger - past teacher librarian, past President and current Secretary of CBCA (Western Australian Branch), CBCA Book of the Year Award Judge, and also a judge for the Premier's Book Award;
Brian Beare - past English teacher, Head of Library, St Brigid's College and
Patricia Passetti - English teacher, Lumen Christi College
Venue: Library and Technology Centre, St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls, Bay View Terrace, Mosman Park (see Map here)
Time: 4.15 for 4.30 pm
Cost: No charge
