Living Literacies Through Libraries

This conference encompasses many of those Literacies that empower our students to be informed and aware learners:

  • Personal Literacy that leads to lifelong learning and an ability to function well in society

  • Technological Literacies that include e-Literacies, Media and visual Literacies

  • Critical Literacy that embraces Ethical and Moral Literacy and Problem Solving; and

  • Traditional and Cultural Literacies.

Our theme Living Literacies Through Libraries suggests on one hand that we who are involved in school libraries should aspire to be living role models for best practice in Literacies.  On the other hand, we might interpret our theme as recognizing that there are many ways school libraries provide a healthy and dynamic context to keep Literacies alive and vital.

The 2006 Conference offers a variety and depth of voices, opportunities for sharing and interacting, and strategies to take back and inject into the lifeblood of our own workplace.

Venue : St Stephen's School, 100 Doveridge Drive, Duncraig
